This is a REAL replica of Negan's Lucille from The Walking Dead. No plastic, rubber or foam.
Lucille is constructed entirely of wood and metal..
We start with a 33-34 inch White Ash or Hard Maple baseball bat. The bat is stained, sanded, and stained again multiple times with different stains to achieve a very accurate color. The oval is hand painted, and the bat is then distressed to give it the rough appearance seen on TV. The bat is then wrapped with heavy duty 12.5-gauge, 2-point barbed wire, attached with 3/4-inch galvanized fence staples..
This labor intensive, and often painful, process means that each piece is constructed over the course of 3-4 days. It also means that the result is one seriously scary prop..
